Brandon's large ensemble and choral pieces address a variety of subject matters, from the cannibalistic practices of prehistoric humans, to the tale of a shipwreck. Each piece is carefully constructed with an emphasis on motives and their development, as well as thoughtful orchestration.
As a pianist, Brandon is always improvising and composing at the piano. He enjoys experimenting with exploring different textures and pushing the expressive capabilities of the instrument.
Brandon enjoys taking the opportunity of working with other musicians to write for instruments he doesn't know how to play. His chamber music leans more into the unconventional and extended playing techniques.
